Russian Spam Gmail Filter
This morning was the final straw. Although Gmail spam protection is a godsend, I don’t see how so many Russian emails make it into my inbox (Perhaps relatives of Sergey?). I cannot read sputnik - yet apparently spammers think I’m interested in whatever they’re offering.
I did some sleuthing and found that the character ? is common and stands by itself in most spams. English translation according to Google и == AND. I did a couple test searches and this seem to work well - so here’s what I came up with.
- Create a new filter in Gmail (Settings > Filters)
- Has The Words: и (Next Step)
- x Delete (Create)
Spam free (for the most part) again!
UPDATE
I still got some Russian Spam THIS morning! Time for another filter.
- Create a new filter in Gmail (Settings > Filters)
- Has The Words: до (Next Step)
