The musical drought’s days are numbered

For the first couple months of 2008 I’ve notice a severe lack of any quality new music. Normally at least something catches my ear hole, but so far 2008 has been a crapshoot for new tunes, but there is hope!

PATD On March 25th Panic at the Disco will be releasing their sophomore effort Pretty. Odd. I’ve been anticipating a new Panic album for a while now, their 2006 release “Fever You Can’t Sweat Out” was a great disc and it’s still in my listening rotation (on and off). Judging by the quality of their first released track for the upcoming album Pretty. Odd., I doubt I’ll be disappointed.

Panic at the Disco - Nine in the Afternoon

The Odd CoupleNEW Gnarls Barkley? Hell yea. Although I very much doubt they’ll be able to top their freshman release “St. Elsewhere”, you know it’ll be something good. The Odd Couple drops 3/25 as well.

Gnarls Barkley - Surprise

Attack and Release Danger Mouse has been bus. New Gnarls Barkley, and now producing the new The Black Keys album. I’ve heard some initial tracks and it sounds like another tight affair by TBK. Capture & Release drops 4/1.

Notable Hype

Sweet tracks found when rummaging through Hype Machine

LCD Soundsystem - Big Ideas

Groove Armada - Are Friends Electric

Let me know what you think. I’m planning on making this a weekly feature to get myself back on the new music bandwagon. If there’s something I should know about - speak up!
