A while back Hype Machine solicited music bloggers to send them their “Best of 2007″ blog posts. It was good timing because I had just created compiled: My Top Ten Albums of 2007 and The Best Albums of 2007 (Mega List)

So I submitted them. Along with my contribution and countless others they created a Music Blog Zeitgeist for 2007.

I was glad to see most of my top choices in their 50 Best Albums of 2007 list. Guess that means I have good taste right?

I was happy to see my #1 album, Spoon - Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga at #5, but not high enough if you ask me.

There were a couple of albums I missed that I plan on checking out:

• The National - Boxer
• Okkervil River - The Stage Names
• Justice - Cross

I’m just as shocked as you. I honestly didn’t think the last bastion of social networking, Facebook, was susceptible to spam. I guess that’s just being naive, but just a little while ago I was spammed for the first time on Facebook. I’m not just talking about an annoying app that runs amuck. I’m talking about a spammy ringtones ad on my WALL by one of my sisters long-time friends.

I don’t know what to think about Facebook now. There’s always someone looking for an exploit to make a quick buck. I hope FB puts the kaibosh on this quickly, but it’s always going to be an uphill battle. Unsolicited annoyances like this completely turned me off to Myspace and let me make the jump to Facebook w/ confidence, but today that confidence has waned a bit. Facebook is spamtaculous.
